New Year's Eve 2010 Celebrations

The night preceding New Year's Day, that is the night between 31st of December and 1st of January is termed New Year's Eve. It is the occasion that marks the beginning of the next year and is thus celebrated throughout the world. Though this is an event previously significant to Christianity but today it is considered a national holiday across countries and cultures. There are some customs related to the celebration of New Year's Eve.

Music and Dance
These are the elements that are the flavour of any New Year celebration. People get together in community gatherings and dance the night away to music that is representative of the celebratory atmosphere.

Food
Though, the get together on New Year's Eve might range from a cozy dinner for family and friends to a louder celebration. No New Year's Eve celebration is complete without a good spread of delicacies.

Gifts and Games
What makes this occasion special are the various games and the subsequent ritual of exchanging gifts. Such traditions, though not a certainty in any other celebration but they are a must when the occasion is New Year's Eve.

The way of celebrating might differ among people of cultures and religion and regions, even the date might differ. But, the overall atmosphere at any New Year' Eve celebration is an eclectic mixture of nostalgia for an year gone by and happiness for promise that the next year holds.
