The night preceding New Year's Day, that is the night between 31st of December and 1st of January is termed New Year's Eve. It is the occasion that marks the beginning of the next year and is thus celebrated throughout the world. Though this is an event previously significant to Christianity but today it is considered a national holiday across countries and cultures.
