Festivals are unique way to celebrate some unique aspects of the community you belong. Hence these celebrations offer a sense of belonging for social, religious as well as geographical groups besides meeting specific requirements and providing immense entertainment.

While modern festivals focusing on ethnic or cultural topics in one way help to inform members of their traditions. Earlier only elderly shared stories to transfer some knowledge to the succeeding generation. This is better understood by historic feasts that provided a means to find mates and strengthen relationships in the family.
